Fold Quran Privacy Policy
Effective date: 24 October 2026 · Applies to the Fold Quran app for iPhone.
In short
- Fold Quran is a free Quran reader: a two-page mushaf on iPhone Duo, the translation beside the Arabic, verse-by-verse reading, recitation, khatm progress and plan, bookmarks, widgets and an optional daily reminder.
- We collect no data. There is no account, no tracking, no analytics, no ads and no third-party SDK.
- Your reading progress, bookmarks, khatm plan and settings are kept on your device, not sent to us. There is no iCloud sync.
- The app makes one kind of network request: when you play a recitation, the audio file for that verse is streamed from everyayah.com. Like any web request, that server sees your IP address and the request. The app sends no identifier with it.

What stays on your device
The app keeps the following on your iPhone, in the app's own storage. None of it is sent to us.
Reading progress
Why: To take you back to where you stopped and show your khatm progress
Where it stays: On the device, until you delete the app
Bookmarks
Why: To find the verses and pages you saved
Where it stays: On the device, until you delete the app
Your khatm plan
Why: To pace your reading towards a complete khatm
Where it stays: On the device, until you delete the app
Your settings
Why: To keep the app the way you set it up
Where it stays: On the device, until you delete the app
The app shares this information with its own widgets through an app group, a storage space on the device that only the app and its widgets can read. There is no iCloud sync. Like other app data, it is included in your own iCloud or computer backup, which we can't see. Deleting the app deletes it from the device. We have no copy ourselves, so we can't restore anything.
Quran text and recitation
The Quran text (Uthmani script) and the translations come from Tanzil and are included in the app, used under their licences. Nothing is downloaded to read them, and reading works offline.
Recitation is the only feature that uses the network. When you play a recitation, the app streams the audio file for that verse from everyayah.com, a third-party server that we don't run. Like any web request, that server sees your IP address and which file was requested. The app sends no identifier with the request: no account, no ID, nothing about you.
This is the only network request the app makes. We receive nothing from it.
Daily reminder
The daily reminder is optional. If you turn it on, iOS asks whether the app may show notifications, and the reminder is scheduled on the device as a local notification. There is no push server, and nothing is sent anywhere.
You can turn the reminder off in the app, or turn off the app's notifications in Settings › Notifications.
Widgets
The verse of the day and khatm progress widgets read your progress on the device, through the app group shared with the app.
Widgets make no network calls.
Children
Fold Quran is made for a general audience. It collects nothing that identifies anyone, child or adult.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct or delete personal data and to object to its use. Fold Quran sends us nothing and everything it keeps stays on your device, so you can do this yourself: to remove everything, delete the app (and any backup that holds it).
We hold no data about you, so there is nothing for us to send or delete. For any question, write to hello@aveniaconsulting.com. You can also complain to the CNIL, the French data protection authority, at cnil.fr.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change ever meant sending other information off the device, the app would ask first.
