Fold Days Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 October 2026 · Applies to the Fold Days app for iPhone and iPad.
In short
- Fold Days shows the days left in the year, the year as dots, a one-line note for each day (and, with Pro, one photo per day), countdowns to the dates you choose, and widgets for the Home Screen, Lock Screen and StandBy.
- There is no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. The app contacts only two services: Apple's App Store, to show prices and handle purchases and restores, and RevenueCat, which we use to keep track of subscriptions. Each time the app opens, RevenueCat gets a random ID and technical details about the device, and later the purchase records. None of it carries a name, email or Apple Account.
- Your notes, photos and countdowns are kept on your device, not sent to us. There is no iCloud sync.
- Purchases go through Apple. We never see your name, Apple Account or payment details, only purchase records under a random ID.
Who is responsible
Fold Days is published by Avenia Consulting (Paris, France) and made by Marouane Gazouzi. Avenia Consulting is the controller under the GDPR for anything this policy covers. RevenueCat, Inc. processes the data described under Purchases for us, as our subscription provider.

What stays on your device
The app keeps the following on your iPhone or iPad, in the app's own storage. None of it is sent to us.
Day notes (one line of text per day)
Why: To show what you wrote for each day
Where it stays: On the device, until you clear the note or delete the app
Day photos (Pro), one per day
Why: To show the photo you picked for that day
Where it stays: On the device, resized to at most 1600 pixels, until you remove the photo or delete the app
Countdowns: name, date and colour
Why: To count the days to the dates you care about
Where it stays: On the device, until you delete the countdown or the app
Your chosen colour theme
Why: To show the app in the colours you picked
Where it stays: On the device, until you delete the app
Whether Fold Days Pro is active
Why: To open Pro features, even before the App Store answers
Where it stays: On the device, as a cached copy; Apple holds the purchase itself
Like other app data, all of this is included in your own iCloud or computer backup, which we can't see. Deleting the app removes it from the device. A backup made earlier keeps its copy until you delete that backup. We have no copy ourselves, so we can't restore anything.
Photos
The app never uses the camera and never asks for access to your photo library. When you add a photo to a day, Apple's photo picker gives the app only the photo you pick. The app never sees the rest of your library.
The photo is resized to at most 1600 pixels and saved on the device only. It is never uploaded.
Widgets
The year widget works out the days left on the device. The countdown widget keeps its own name, date and colour in the widget's settings, which iOS stores on the device.
Widgets make no network calls.
Purchases
Fold Days Pro is available as a monthly or yearly subscription (the yearly one starts with a free trial for new subscribers) or as a one-time lifetime purchase. It is sold by Apple through the App Store, with Family Sharing. Apple handles payment, receipts, renewals and refunds. We don't receive your name, Apple Account, email or payment details.
To keep track of subscriptions, the app uses RevenueCat, Inc. (United States). Each time the app opens, even before anything is bought, it gives RevenueCat a random ID that RevenueCat creates for this install, Apple's identifier for vendors (IDFV) for this device, and technical details such as the app version, iOS version, device model, language and store country; like any internet request, the connection also shows an IP address. Once you have bought something (on any device, or through Family Sharing), RevenueCat also receives the purchase records from the App Store: what was bought, when, the price and currency, the store country, and renewals and refunds. It never receives a name, email or Apple Account.
RevenueCat uses these records for us to confirm purchases and to give us sales totals. They are pseudonymous: tied to these IDs, never to a name, email or Apple Account. They are kept as long as needed to provide the service and to meet accounting rules, and deleted on request.
You can cancel a subscription at any time in Settings › your name › Subscriptions.
Children
Fold Days is made for a general audience. It collects nothing that identifies anyone, child or adult.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct or delete personal data and to object to its use. Everything except what RevenueCat receives (see Purchases) stays on your device, so you can do this yourself. In the app, you can remove a day's photo, clear a day's note (save it empty) or delete a countdown. To remove everything, delete the app (and any backup that holds it).
To have the records held by RevenueCat deleted, write to hello@aveniaconsulting.com. Apple holds the purchases themselves. You can also complain to the CNIL, the French data protection authority, at cnil.fr.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change ever meant sending other information off the device, the app would ask first.
